Corporate Social Responsibility
While we strive to build a strong and successful company, we have always been trying to give back to the community from which we get everything. We are already working with some great organizations and helping worthy causes, such as
- Karma Kutir, an NGO based in Kolkata, India, to help the under-privileged
- Udayan, an NGO based near Kolkata, India, to assist and guide helpless children
- Light of Learning, our own program to support education for some deserving but disadvantaged students
We are also interested to work with schools, colleges and other organizations to help in socially relevant causes, including helping out students with their technology needs and mentoring.
We plan on spending a portion of our earnings towards helping out the needy, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, vocational training for self-reliance etc. We consider these as an investment in the future of our society.
We are also ready to help out non-profit organizations with their IT needs at a no cost for small projects or no profit for larger projects. The goal is to make them more efficient and effective so that their limited resources are best utilized to help out those who need it most. We feel honored to be a part of such efforts.
Karma Kutir - Women's Empowerment & the Revival of HandicraftsKarma Kutir is a Registered Voluntary Social Welfare Organization working relentlessly to generate self-employment opportunities for marginalized women and girls in rural as well as urban areas in India. Karma Kutir upholds the dignity of human life in all its activities.
Udayan - Home for Helpless ChildrenUdayan a welfare home, was founded by John Gregory Stevens, or as his friends call him, James. Udayan is located near Barrackpore, north of Kolkata. It takes care of more than 300 children, including their education from nursery to college, and vocational training. A school, Udayan Vidyalaya, is also run by the organization.
Light of Learning - Supporting education for deserving but disadvantaged students.We are glad for the opportunity to extend a helping hand to the meritorious but underprivileged students to continue with further studies. We have been providing stipends to 10 students who have performed well in the 10th and 12th standard board examinations despite their disadvantaged backgrounds. It would have been very hard or impossible for these students to pursue further studies without the financial help. We have worked with the respective educational institutions to identify the needy students for the aid, and have been tracking their educational progress. We'll be totally honest, unbiased and transparent about making this contribution to the educational development of deserving students. We are also glad to note that recipients of the educational aid comprises equally of boys and girls. We at SARANGSoft believe that our success as a business organization is tied to the society around us. Our help along with the support of their family and teachers will provide these students with the renewed drive to succeed academically, and be valuable citizens of tomorrow.
